P.E Class (Wk 1): ‘Good News!’

Romans 1:15–17 (ESV)
15 So I am eager to preach the gospel to you also who are in Rome.
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”
good news n. — positive information about recent and important events regarded as worthy of celebration; from ordinary statements to those accompanied by a celebratory sacrifice.
Luke 4:18–19 (ESV)
18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because He has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaimliberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed,
19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
STEP ONE: CHANGE
  • Your focus. Your attitude. Your language.
  • You can’t proclaim good news while dwelling on bad news.
Matthew 28:18–20 (ESV)
18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
  • STEP TWO: Get up and GO!
Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous works among all the peoples!
  • STEP THREE: Declare His glory!
